Lorraine A. (Langlois) Shelton, a lifelong resident of Newmarket, New Hampshire, passed away on October 7, 2026 at the age of 91. Her life was defined by her love of family, deep faith, fierce independence, and dedication to the community she always called home.

A popular folk belief holds that seeing a cardinal means a departed family member or angel is visiting or sending comfort. Because cardinals form strong, lifelong pair bonds and feed each other in a kiss-like gesture, they represent romance, loyalty, and fidelity.
